Joe Biden has done the amazing.
As a new Senate report illustrates, and a small tidal wave of books and articles make clear, Biden stands out as the most corrupt vice president in American history. Considering that the country has had 48 vice presidents, that’s saying something.
Biden has rescued Spiro Agnew’s reputation as the most corrupt Vice President of the United States in American history- by outdoing Richard Nixon’s disgraced and resigned vice president on the corruption scale.
For those who came in late, Spiro T. Agnew was President Richard Nixon’s vice president. He had previously served as the County Executive of Baltimore County, Maryland and in 1966 he was elected Governor of Maryland. In 1968 Nixon chose Agnew as his vice president, the ticket winning a 49-state landslide re-election in 1972.
In early 1972, the US Attorney for Maryland, Republican George Beall, opened a quiet investigation into allegations of public corruption in Baltimore County. One thing led to another to another to another. By June of 1973, Beall was in possession of documents that showed Agnew had received payoffs from a Maryland engineering firm while governor – and that he had continued to receive payments while serving as vice-president. The Attorney General was informed. Shortly afterward Nixon was informed. It wasn’t long before the allegations exploded in public, and it became clear Agnew was going to be indicted. On October 10, 1973, Spiro Agnew resigned the vice presidency.
Up until 2020, Agnew was alone of the now-48 vice presidents accused of abusing his various public offices for personal gain.
The story says, in part, this:
“The Senate Homeland Security and Finance Committees on Wednesday released an interim report on their months-long joint investigation into Hunter Biden’s role on the board of Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings and his alleged “extensive and complex financial transactions.”
….The 87-page report stated that Obama administration officials “knew” that Hunter Biden’s position on the board of Burisma was “problematic” and that it interfered “in the efficient execution of policy with respect to Ukraine.”
‘This investigation has illustrated the extent to which officials within the Obama administration ignored the glaring warning signs when the vice president’s son joined the board of a company owned by a corrupt Ukrainian oligarch,’ the report’s executive summary stated.
Hunter Biden joined Burisma in April 2014 and, at the time, reportedly connected the firm with consulting form Blue Star Strategies to help the natural gas company fight corruption charges in Ukraine. During the time Biden was on the board the company’s board, then-Vice President Joe Biden was running U.S.-Ukraine relations and policy for the Obama administration.”
Over in the Wall Street Journal is a report that says this:
“How many millions of dollars did Hunter Biden collect from foreign tycoons while his father was vice president? A new Senate report makes some headway toward answering this question. As for the related question of what exactly Joe Biden’s son was supposedly doing in return for this gusher of foreign money, Americans are still waiting for a precise answer.
Hunter Biden’s lucrative arrangements in Ukrainian natural gas, Chinese finance and Romanian real estate have been attracting attention because he had no particular expertise in Ukrainian natural gas, Chinese finance or Romanian real estate. But he did have a father who was leading U.S. policy in these countries.
Now Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Ron Johnson (R., Wis.), and Senate Finance Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) report on still more income sources for Hunter Biden ventures, including a Russian billionaire named Elena Baturina.
…..the Senators have come up with an estimate of the amount collected by him and his associates from that Ukrainian energy firm—more than $4 million.”
Fox also reported, stunningly, this:
“The Senate committees also revealed that they obtained records from the U.S. Treasury Department, which “show potential criminal activity relating to transactions among and between Hunter Biden, his family, and his associates with Ukrainian, Russian, Kazakh and Chinese nationals.”
There is more detail – considerable detail – on the Biden corruption in Peter Schweizer’s book Profiles in Corruption: Abuse of Power by America’s Progressive Elite.
In a lengthy chapter discussing the Biden corruption, Schweizer writes:
“The Biden family’s apparent self-enrichment depends on Joe Biden’s political influence and involves no less than five family members: Joe’s son Hunter, daughter Ashley, brothers James and Frank, and sister Valerie.”
So let’s cut to the chase. The fact of the matter, which will continue to be scrupulously ignored by the liberal media, is that Joe Biden has let his family use his powerful positions as Senator and Vice President to repeatedly enrich themselves.
Making Joe Biden the most corrupt vice president in American history.
