Always elegant and poised, Melania Trump closed out the second night of the Republican National Convention. The first lady delivered a heartfelt speech filled with everything the Democratic National Convention was not; gratitude for the United States and an acknowledgment followed by a plea to the rioters and looters to end their destructive violence.
Actress and singer Bette Midler, along with some others on the left, reacted to Melania’s speech using liberals’ favorite tactics: when you can’t attack the message, attack the person. “Oh, God. She still can’t speak English” Midler tweeted during Melania’s speech. Radio host Dana Loesch immediately responded to Midler, tweeting “Xenophobe who speaks one language mocks immigrant who can speak five.”
In an additional tweet, Midler wrote “#beBest is back! A UGE bore! She can speak several words in a few languages. Get that illegal alien off the stage!” Hey Midler, despite the fact Melania is not an illegal immigrant, don’t you and your party have a soft spot for illegal immigrants? Oh, also, isn’t it morally wrong to use the word “alien?” Nonetheless, Midler and her cohorts want to have their cake and eat it, too.
Midler’s confusing hypocrisy goes on. “You are one lucky Slovenian! And after all that surgery, you hit a kind of horrible jackpot, chained to [a] colossal idiot.” If only all women should be so lucky to be aging as “natural” as Midler. Also, isn’t it betraying the female code to accuse each other of receiving plastic surgery? As actor James Woods tweeted, “The party of diversity mocks an American for her accent.”
Kathy Griffin who engaged in a nationwide victim tour after she was supposedly blacklisted after posing with a mock-severed head of President Trump. Sadly, for someone who has been blacklisted by the very people who applauded her severed-head stunt, we still see far too much of her. “Seriously, f— this b—-” tweeted Griffin. What exactly for, Kathy? Could you be more specific? Then you have former NBA player Rex Chapman who compared Melania’s dress to Adolf Hitler. It’s all a very telltale sign that the first lady delivered a fantastic speech.
