Rachel Maddow spent her evening program Tuesday night vilifying the horrors and conditions of immigrants under the Trump administration. Only one problem; the images showing up on screen were taken during Obama’s administration. Maddow gave an emotional performance:
“In terms of permanent damage done to humans, in terms of the severity of the damage deliberately done to humans, the Trump administration, no matter what else they do, they will never ever get out from the shadow of the fact that they really did, as a policy and deliberate practice, they really did take little kids away from their moms and dads,” she said.
When, oh when, will Democrats learn? This is only the latest example of liberals, even very prominent ones in positions to be able to fact check, using Associated Press photos taken in 2014. Or is it that they have learned; they have learned that liberals do not care if absolute lies and betrayal is used to make Trump look bad.
Likely, the majority of the mainstream media’s cult-like followers will never even know if false photos and footage is used while making the point that Trump is evil. Or, just like their media heroes, they just plain do not care about lies. It’s all so ironic as they continuously chastise Trump for using the term “fake news.” Does it get any more fake than publicizing photos from the Obama administration and saying it is modern-day under Trump’s administration? Simply put, no.
Mediate reports “the photos became viral in 2018 as they were repeatedly – and mistakenly – used to show the condition of immigrants detained in the Trump era.” Even “Former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau tweeted some of the AP pictures that year as well, writing: ‘This is happening right now, and the only debate that matters is how we force our government to get these kids back to their families as fast as humanly possible.”
Even Michelle Obama herself made the bogus Trump versus Obama administration claim. The Associated Press fact-checked her Democratic National Convention speech she gave only one month ago. The former first lady was critical of President Trump because immigrants at the border “are torn from their families and thrown into cages.”
Mrs. Obama clearly did not care too much about immigrants while she was literally in the White House. Somehow it escaped her that the “cages” were built under her husband’s administration. As for Trump? He ended the family separation policy with an executive order in 2018. Yet again, do liberals care that even darling Michelle Obama accused Trump of doing something they found infuriating, when in fact, he reversed that which was done by Obama? Once again; simply put, no.
