Nation

The Columbus Police Department has released an officer’s bodycam video of Tuesday’s shooting of Makiyah Bryant, an armed teenage black girl, by a police officer. The video appears to show Makiyah Bryant trying to stab another girl when the officer opened fire, presumably saving the life of the unarmed girl. [adsanity_group num_ads=”1″ align=”aligncenter” num_columns=”1″ group_ids=”2381″/] “We know based on this footage the officer took action to protect another young girl in our community,” Columbus Mayor Andrew explained as the police department released the bodycam video. “We think it’s critically important to share as much information as possible. Did Maxine Waters Just Free Derek Chauvin?

On Monday, Judge Peter Cahill, who is the presiding judge on the Derek Chauvin case involving the death of George Floyd, said that comments made by Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) over the weekend could result to the “whole trial being overturned” on appeal. “And it is so pervasive that it is I just don’t know how this jury it can really be said to be that they are free from the taint of this,” the lawyer representing Derek Chauvin said. “And now that we have U.S. representatives, threatening acts of violence in relation to the specific case, it’s mind boggling

On Monday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) signed HB 1, known as the “Anti-Riot Bill,” which aims to crack down on rioting as further riots are expected to breakout after the verdict of the Derek Chauvin case involving the death of George Floyd is announced. According to WFLA, the bill “defines ‘riot’ as a violent public disturbance involving 3 or more people acting with common intent resulting in injury to others, damage to property, or the imminent danger of injury or damage.” [adsanity_group num_ads=”1″ align=”aligncenter” num_columns=”1″ group_ids=”2381″/] “[The Anti-Riot bill] Creates a new second-degree felony called an ‘aggravated riot,’ which
