The War on NewsMax and One America News

January 22, 2022
Media/Politics

Well isn’t this interesting.  Newsmax, “the fourth highest-rated cable news channel in the nation” has mysteriously been dumped by cable providers Blue Ridge Cable, Atlantic Broadband and Hargray Cable. No sooner had this news about Newsmax settled in then there was similar news about the corporate censorship of another conservative start-up – One America News Network, or OANN. That corporate censor was Direct TV, which is owned in turn by AT&T.  A trip to the Direct TV website reveals that the carrier carries CNN, describing it as one of the “essentials” that Direct TV carries. Jen Psaki Sets Irony Meters Ablaze in New Interview With Hack Jake Tapper

During an appearance on ABC’s “The View” on Friday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told those who were upset about the Senate failing to pass the Democrats’ election overhaul bills to use alcohol to suppress those feelings over the weekend. Co-host and ABC News anchor Linsey Davis asked Psaki about the election overhaul bills, saying, “Of course as you know all too well, the Senate once again failed to pass voting rights protections with Manchin and Sinema joining all Republicans in not changing the filibuster rules. The president said he was disappointed but not deterred. Where do you see

Sometimes ya just can’t make it up. Unless, of course, you’re NBC Late Night host Seth Meyers. Ole Seth, it seems, has his knickers in a knot because Republicans had the nerve – the nerve! – to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King by – gasp! – quoting him. Ohhhh noooo! Targeting Florida Senator Marco Rubio, Meyers, lying less than smoothly, said this: “Well, today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which means it’s a day full of Republican politicians who support voter suppression efforts and have spent months fanning a crazed right-wing panic over so-called Critical Race Theory.” He went on: “Today, for example, Florida Senator Marco Rubio tweeted
