New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced his state has acquired 70,000 Hydroxychloroquine, 10,000 Zithromax, and 750,000 Chloroquine from the Federal Government.

President Trump has repeatedly touted the Hydroxychloroquine, a drug used to treat malaria, as a way to reduce the duration of COVID-19, which has already infected over 35,000 people in the U.S.

Hydroxychloroquine, which is sold under the brand name Plaquenil, was approved for use in the USA back in 1955. In a small, 36-patient study by French researchers published earlier this month, it was shown effective in killing the coronavirus.

Combined with the commonly prescribed antibiotic azithromycin, a subset of six patients all tested negative for the bug by the sixth day, the researchers found.

“This would be a gift from heaven, this would be a gift from God if it works,” Trump said of the potential treatment at a Saturday press conference. “We are going to pray to God that it does work.”

NY Gov. Cuomo announced trials would begin Tuesday.

I hope they handle this responsibly…idk how reliably it’s been tested, i know by is in a panic situation, but throwing a drug in which sounds like it hasn’t had many cases could potentially be disastrous if it makes symptoms worse. We already have a few ppl trying to “self medicate”, then either dying or getting themselves into critical condition. Let’s pray and hope that this goes down well, and wait to see what the professionals say per how this goes down
