Over there at Fox, former Utah Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz asks this:
“Remember when Democrats called for peace and unity in the days following the 2016 election of Donald Trump? Neither do I.”
I don’t remember that either. What I remember is Democrats who refused to accept the results of that 2016 election.
Recall this headline from The Washington Post? It was posted on the front page of the paper at 12:27 p.m. on January 20, 2017 – literally, 27 minutes after Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th president. The headline:

As The Wall Street Journal’s Bill McGurn has reminded, here is Hillary Clinton in 2019:
“He knows he’s an illegitimate president. I believe he understands that the many varying tactics they used, from voter suppression and voter purging to hacking to the false stories, he knows that there were just a bunch of different reasons why the election turned out like it did.”
Not to mention there was former President Jimmy Carter saying:
“Or Jimmy Carter in June 2019. ‘There’s no doubt that the Russians did interfere in the election. And I think the interference, although not yet quantified if fully investigated would show that Trump didn’t actually win the election in 2016. He lost the election and he was put into office because the Russians interfered on his behalf.’ Asked if that meant he regarded Mr. Trump as an ‘illegitimate president,’ Mr. Carter said yes.”
McGurn also points to New York Congressman Jerrold Nadler, the Democrat who is the House Judiciary Committee Chairman. Nadler boycotted Trump’s inaugural, saying that while he was was “ ‘legally elected,’ he wasn’t ‘legitimate.’”
Joe Biden himself took some time in a debate to label President Trump a racist. And this doesn’t even count the parade of leftist media figures who said Trump was a racist, mentally unstable, a Russian agent, illegitimate and oh so much more.
Fox’s Greg Gutfeld noted astutely the other night:
“It’s like a miracle! The media and Democrats converge on one message!
It’s time to just move on.
Time to heal! Here’s how the president-elect and some in the liberal media described it over the weekend:
PRESIDENT-ELECT JOE BIDEN ON SATURDAY: This is the time to heal in America!
CNN ANCHOR DON LEMON: America needed a release valve at that moment// finally, the relief came.
MSNBC ON SUNDAY: We’re getting decency back in our country.
NIC ROBERTSON, CNN INTERNATIONAL DIPLOMATIC EDITOR: [It’s] a time to heal America but a time to heal the world as well.”
Sorry. The time to do that was during the last four years. But no. From day one it was a call for a special prosecutor and impeachment and one relentless investigation after another of Donald Trump, his family and his business. Now Joe Biden wants to make nice?
So, sorry. Joe Biden should be dealt with in precisely the same fashion he, his party and his media allies dealt with Trump. Dealt with for the entire next four years if Biden does in fact win the election. As the saying goes, sauce for the gander is sauce for the goose. Then, after the 2024 election – it can be time to call a truce. But not before.
So The New Resistance it is. And the first step is a special prosecutor to investigate Biden Inc.
