Kaepernick expressed his thoughts for the country that made him a famous millionaire on July 4th: “We reject your celebration of white supremacy and look forward to liberation for all” he tweeted of the holiday. “Black people have been dehumanized, brutalized, criminalized, and terrorized by America for centuries and are expected to join your commemoration of independence, while you enslaved our ancestors,” he added.
When Kaepernick instigated a nationwide debate about kneeling during the national anthem at professional sporting events, he said “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.” For a man who claims to stand for justice and equality, he sure incites and instigates violence and hatred.
Amongst his wardrobe choices are “socks depicting cops as pigs and a shirt proudly portraying Malcolm X meeting with Cuban mass murderer Fidel Castro, whom he complimented because of Cuba’s supposedly enlightened policies supporting education” reports The Washington Examiner.
It must not be overlooked that Kaepernick’s actions are exactly that of the behavior he claims must end. Nike, which was a huge supporter of Kaepernick, cowered to his demands and pulled a patriotic sneaker featuring the “Betsy Ross Flag.” Kaepernick cried the shoe was “offensive” and Nike caved. Kaepernick really hates the Fourth of July. The shoe was set to be released in honor of the Fourth of July in 2019 and featured an early American flag of 13 stars in a circle.
Kaepernick reportedly told Nike officials he felt offended by the shoe featuring the flag because it was linked to a period of slavery. Neither history nor modern-day America is acceptable for Kaepernick, which is ironic because he continues to flourish off of his hatred. Kaepernick has his own production “arm” which announced just yesterday that they will be partnering with the media giant Disney.
“The partnership will focus on telling scripted and unscripted stories that explore race, social injustice, and the quest for equity. It also will provide a platform to showcase the work of minority directors and producers” reported ESPN. “I am excited to announce this historic partnership with Disney across all of its platforms to elevate Black and Brown directors, creators, storytellers, and producers, and to inspire the youth with compelling and authentic perspectives,” Kaepernick said in a released statement.
