Tara Reade: Unseal The Biden Senate Records

Here is the fresh headline from The Daily Caller:

EXCLUSIVE: ‘Joe Biden, I Want You To Release The Personnel Records’: Tara Reade Demands Transparency From Biden

The story, reported by the DC’s Mary Margaret Olohan says, in part, this:

“Reade called on the former vice president to release documents pertaining to his time in the Senate, during which period she alleges that Biden kissed her, touched her and penetrated her with his fingers without her consent, in an exclusive interview with the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“Joe Biden, I want you to release all the personnel records from 1973 to 2009 and be transparent about your office practices,” Reade told the DCNF. “I would like to hold you accountable for what happened to me, to how your staff protected you and enabled you, bullied me multiple times into silence.”

The DC story reminds of this story from The Washington Post reported by Matt Viser on July 11, 2019.  That headline:

Joe Biden’s Senate records could answer questions about his past actions — but they’re being kept secret

As it happens, yours truly noted that Post story in The American Spectator on September 26, 2019. My headline:

What Is Joe Biden Hiding?  Stonewalling the release of his Senate papers — and more.

The essence of The Post story was that Biden had donated his papers from his Senate career to his alma mater, the University of Delaware. They were scheduled to be opened “two years after Biden retires from public office.” That would have been January 20, 2019, two years to the day after Biden left the vice-presidency in 2017.

The media’s objective is to protect Joe Biden. So, there is no demand to unseal the hidden Biden records.

But suddenly? On April 24, 2019 – which just so happened to be the day before Biden announced his candidacy for president – the agreement was abruptly changed. Now? Instead of being opened “two years after Biden retires from public office” the agreement was suddenly changed to read two years after Biden “retires from public life.”

At the time, I asked the question in terms of Biden’s own dealings with the Ukraine government. But clearly it applies as well to Tara Reade. As she says, the focus should be on examining all of the personnel records from Biden’s Senate office from 1973 to 2009, which is to say from the first day Biden became a senator to the day he left to become vice president.

I also asked a question relevant then – and even more now: Where is the media?

We know the answer to that question now. The answer – as judged by the media doing its studied best to ignore Tara Reade after insisting on volumes of coverage for Kavanaugh accuser Dr. Christine Blasey Ford – is crystal clear.

The media’s objective is to protect Joe Biden. So, there is no demand to unseal the hidden Biden records.

Imagine that.
