MSNBC’S Claire McCaskill’s Demonstrable Lie

Perhaps the MSNBC squad of McCaskill and Wallace could do their homework? Let me help.
MSNBC’S Claire McCaskill's Demonstrable Lie 1

Wow.  So over at Mediaite is this headline:

Claire McCaskill Rips Trump Lawyer’s ‘Demonstrable Lie’ In Front of Chief Justice Roberts: Either ‘Purposely Lying, or Ignorant’

The story about the current MSNBC commentator and former Missouri Democratic Senator says, in part, this:

“Former Democratic senator Claire McCaskill was on MSNBC to react to President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial, and she accused the president’s lawyers of telling a ‘demonstrable lie’ right in front of Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts.

As Nicolle Wallace’s MSNBC panel broke down the debate over the Senate rules for the trial, former Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele gave Rep. Adam Schiff credit for his handling of the opener before admonishing Trump lawyers Pat Cipollone and Jay Sekulow. After that, McCaskill said “the most stunning thing” for her was that Cippolone falsely claimed, “Not even Mr. Schiff’s Republican colleagues were allowed into the SCIF” to attend classified impeachment meetings in the House of Representatives.

Perhaps the MSNBC squad of McCaskill and Wallace could do their homework? Let me help…

‘A lawyer does not stand in front of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and lie,’ McCaskill said. ‘That is a flat lie, a demonstrable lie.’

Wallace noted that Republican congressmen were shown in the transcripts asking questions in those briefings, which prompted McCaskill to continue: ‘They were all there. They all had a right to be there and dozens and dozens of them attended every single one of those closed hearings.’”

Hello? Is anybody home there at MSNBC?

Pat Cipollone told the truth. Which was reported at the time. Perhaps the MSNBC squad of McCaskill and Wallace could do their homework? Let me help.

Here is this from Conservative Review:

House Republicans storm secret impeachment hearing; Schiff reportedly gets up and leaves with the witness

The story says this, bold print supplied for emphasis:

“Decrying a lack of transparency in House Democrats’ impeachment process against President Donald Trump, House Republicans gathered in the basement of the Capitol Wednesday morning to demand entry into proceedings they’ve been barred from thus far. And they reportedly got in.

At a press conference outside the SCIF, dozens of Republican representatives announced that they would seek to gain entry to the secure room — in which the Democrats of the three committees behind the current impeachment push were conducting a deposition — by demanding to be let in as a group.

SCIF stands for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility. It’s a secure room where classified intelligence and other secret information is discussed. Congress’ SCIF is where much of House Democrats’ investigation has so far taken place and where Republicans not on the investigating committees have not been allowed to enter.

‘If behind those doors they intend to overturn the results of an American presidential election, we want to know what’s going on,’ Rep. Matt Gaetz said while pointing to the SCIF entrance.

According to a senior GOP source who witnessed what happened next, the group went into the anteroom of the SCIF and chanted, “Let us in” outside the door guarded by Capitol Police. After that, the source says, the door opened, someone grabbed it, and a group of Republican members forced their way in.

After members attempted to sit in on the closed-door testimony that was occurring, “Chairman Schiff immediately left with the witness,” Rep. Michael Waltz, R-Fla., told reporters while flanked by a handful of other House Republicans.”

Then there was this story in The Washington Examiner:

GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz ejected from closed-door impeachment meeting

That story says:

A Republican member of the House Judiciary Committee was ejected from a closed-door impeachment hearing.

Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida tried to enter a hearing Monday in which lawmakers from three different committees are interviewing President Trump’s former top aide on Russia, Fiona Hill.

Gaetz said he believed he should be allowed to attend the hearing because impeachment inquiries traditionally are handled by the House Judiciary Committee, and he serves on that panel.”

And oh yes. Here’s the tale of yet another Republican Congressman being barred from the Schiff hearings, replete with video.

Rep. Alex Mooney Stopped By Police Entering Impeachment Chamber

“Republican Rep. Alex Mooney attempted to get into the impeachment inquiry hearing on Tuesday but was denied entry by the police.”

In other words? In other words, Claire McCaskill sat there on MSNBC and, to use her own words told “a flat lie, a demonstrable lie.” And host Nicole Wallace let her get away with it.

Remember the other day when MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell said this of MSNBC? Said O’Donnell: “We don’t bring on liars.”

Newsflash, Lawrence? Yes, you do.
