Podcast host Joe Rogan responded to CNN’s Brian Stelter’s panic over some YouTube personalities attracting more viewers than CNN, reminding Stelter that his show is “f***in terrible.”
“They didn’t even understand the way they were describing it,” Rogan said. “They were describing it as if they’re entitled to viewers. They were saying, ‘There are people on YouTube right now that get more views than this show.’ This is because the market has spoken and your show’s f***in terrible. Well, Brian Stelter’s show keeps slipping and slipping and slipping in the ratings.”

Stelter’s ironically named show “Reliable Sources,” which is essentially a series of Stelter’s diary entries, has lost 72% of its viewers since its peak in early January, according to The Daily Wire. The show has been on a consistent decline since the beginning of this year. Fox News reported, “Brian Stelter has failed to attract one million viewers for 11-straight weeks and averaged only 752,000 on Sunday for its smallest audience of 2021.”
Fox News continued, “Stelter, who claims to cover the media industry but often ignores stories that would tarnish the reputation of a fellow liberal, lost five percent of his viewers compared to the previous week. The struggling show has now finished with less than 800,000 viewers on three different occasions in 2021.”
During an appearance on an episode of C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal” last week, Stelter received some hints from callers as to why he has continued to lose viewers, with one caller referring to Stelter as “the biggest minister of misinformation.”

“Mr. Stelter is the biggest minister of misinformation I have ever heard and I’m a news junkie,” the caller said, prompting the idea that maybe viewers who tune into a show called “Reliable Sources” are searching for reliably sourced information.
The caller listed false stories that Stelter has promoted, and the CNN host suggested there was hope he would adjust to the criticism, saying, “Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it.”
