On Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed that President Biden does not need to take a cognitive test because he “passes a cognitive test every day” by being president.
Jean-Pierre’s come shortly after White House Dr. Kevin O’Connor claimed in a memo that he identified “no new concerns” since the last time that Biden was examined in 2023. However, Biden was not given a cognitive test in his exam despite polling consistently showing that the overwhelming majority of Americans do not believe that Biden is mentally fit to be president.
“The president doesn’t need a cognitive test,” Jean-Pierre said. “That is not my assessment. That is not my assessment. That is the assessment of the president’s doctor. That is also the assessment of the neurologist who has also made that assessment as well.”
Notably, O’Connor’s memo makes no mention of any medical professionals saying that Biden does not need to take a cognitive exam.
“The president, who is also the commander-in-chief — he passes a cognitive test every day — every day, as he moves from one topic to another topic, trying — understanding the granular level of these topics,” she said. “You saw him talk about a fighting crime today. Tomorrow, he’s going to go to the border. Next week, he’s going to give a State of the Union address.”
However, former White House physician Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), who served under former Presidents Obama and Trump, has repeatedly pointed out throughout Biden’s presidency that he is “not cognitively prepared to be our president,” and has called on Biden to resign.
“We’re looking horrible right now on the world stage, this is an absolute national embarrassment,” Jackson said during a 2021 Fox News interview. “And instead of being out in front of this and talking about what’s going on, and what went wrong, and what the plan was, and what we’re gonna do next, Biden’s just been in hiding again, as he always has.”
“Biden, once again, has failed us. He’s embarrassed as internationally,” Jackson continued. “And you know, honestly, it is time for him to leave. I’ve been saying this for a long time. I’ve been saying that he’s not, he’s not cognitively prepared to be our president. And this is just another example of his failure. And I think a lot of this is relevant to his cognitive ability. But he’s, he’s created a national security disaster for this country right now. And it’s time for him to move on and somebody else needs to do this job. He is not fit to be our commander in chief. It’s time for him to resign.”
