I like Chris Wallace. He was the NBC White House correspondent when I worked in the Reagan White House. Nice guy.
But wow. Well aside from choosing to debate the President himself the other night, Chris has gotten himself into a ridiculous mess over wearing masks.
Chris took offense that the family Trump showed up in masks for the debate – and then removed them. Here – no joke – was the headline in The Washington Post:
‘Do they think … rules for everybody else do not apply to them?’: Chris Wallace slams Trump’s family for refusing masks at debate
Hello?
“Everybody else” should apply to….Chris Wallace himself.
This is a perfect example of why so many Americans don’t trust the media or liberal politicians. Speaker Nancy Pelosi brayed and brayed about the need to wear masks – then was caught on that beauty parlor video…..not wearing a mask. Senator Diane Feinstein insisted on masks – then is photographed getting off a plane…without a mask.
And then there’s New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. That would be Governor Cuomo who tweeted this simple line:
“There should be a national mask mandate.”
Uh-huh.
As headlined here in Breitbart:
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo Spotted Without a Mask
The story reported:
“New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), known for frequently criticizing Americans who refuse to “mask up”, was spotted without a mask in public.
…Cuomo has been one of the most outspoken politicians during the coronavirus pandemic, loudly voicing his position on the importance of wearing a mask. In June, Cuomo urged Trump to sign an executive order “directing everyone to wear a mask” and begged the president to “lead by example.”
The following month, speaking to MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace, Cuomo cited studies that suggest thousands could die due to the lack of a nationwide mask mandate. Cuomo said:
“Nicolle, that we’re still talking about masks is indefensible. You have the IHME projection model, which is the model that the White House follows. It’s funded by Gates. They say 40,000 more Americans will die because we didn’t have a mask policy. Forty thousand people will die because we didn’t have a mask policy? Every health expert says it. Every federal health expert says it. The CDC says it. The NIH says it. That we’re allowing politics to allow Americans to die is a level of dysfunction that we haven’t seen in this country before.”
In other words? Whether its Chris Wallace, Nancy Pelosi, Diane Feinstein or Andrew Cuomo, the issue is always the same: one rule for me, a different rule for thee.
