Democrat New York Governor Kathy Hochul, who took office after ex-Governor Andrew Cuomo resigned over sexual misconduct allegations, told New York Republican candidates to “get out of town” and “head to Florida” where they belong last week.
“We’re here to say that the era of Trump and Zeldin and Molinaro – just jump on a bus and head down to Florida where you belong. Get out of town. Get out of town,” she said, referencing former President Trump, her gubernatorial challenger Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) and congressional candidate Marc Molinaro.
“You don’t represent our values,” the unelected Governor added. “You are not New Yorkers.”

In response to Hochul’s comments, Zeldin tweeted, “New York has a Governor who believes that if you disagree with her you are no longer a New Yorker and need to leave the state. Just think about how absolutely nuts that is. Kathy Hochul’s Gotta Go!”
Molinaro also responded on Twitter, writing, “Governor Hochul got caught speaking her mind. She and her former partner in crime, Andrew Cuomo, were clear in their disdain for New Yorkers who disagree with them. The constant division is so unnecessary and unbecoming.”
“I believe in public service – it is as Bobby Kennedy once called it, a dignified duty. It is, in fact, that we disagree yet share the same communities, mourn tragedies together, celebrate successes together & engage in spirited debate that defines us as New Yorkers, as Americans,” Molinaro added. “A public servant understands this, accepts this and encourages this.”
As noted by Fox News, Hochul’s divisive comments echo those of her predecessor, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) who told Republicans in 2014 that they have “no place” in New York.
