Perhaps the fact that President Trump just fought to raise the stimulus check amount from $600 to $2,000 for every American is amongst the reasons Trump has made the “most admired man for 2020” list. A Gallup poll released Tuesday asked respondents “which man and woman living anywhere in the world they admired most this year – and 18 percent said Trump” reports the New York Post.

Coming in second was former first lady Michelle Obama with 10 percent, followed by Vice President-elect Kamala Harris with 6 percent. What’s most meaningful about the poll is “Trump’s first-place finish unseated former President Barack Obama from atop the list – a place he held for the past 12 years.” Trump and Obama tied in the 2019 results.

Amongst party lines, 48 percent of Republicans chose Trump as their most admired. No one else received more than 2 percent of the Republican votes. As for Democrats, Obama was selected by 32 percent, a fall from last year’s 41 percent.

As for the women, First lady Melania Trump came in behind Obama and Harris with 4 percent. Oprah Winfrey followed with 3 percent, and the following each received 2 percent: German Chancellor Angela Merkel, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Queen Elizabeth II. United States Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett and young environmental activist Greta Thunberg finish up for the women, each having received 1 one percent.

The additional men rounding out the top ten are President-elect Joe Biden with 6 percent, Dr. Anthony Fauci with 3 percent, Pope Francis with 2 percent and Elon Musk, Senator Bernie Sanders, Bill Gates, NBA’s LeBron James and the Dalai Lama each with 1 percent.
