State-run Qatar Airways inked a massive deal with Boeing on Wednesday during President Donald Trump’s visit to Doha.
Trump announced the agreement was worth $200 billion and included 160 American-made jets. He and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani attended the signing ceremony in the Gulf capital.
Trump said Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg, who signed the deal with Qatar Airways CEO Badr Mohammed Al-Meer next to Trump and the Qatari emir, told him “it’s the largest order of jets in the history of Boeing, that’s good”.
Trump added: “It’s over $200 billion but 160 in terms of the jets, that’s fantastic. So that’s a record, Kelly, and congratulations to Boeing. Get those planes out there, get them out there.”

This has been a productive Middle East sing for the president. On Tuesday, Trump secured $600 billion in investments from Saudi Arabia. The deal includes $142 billion for defense and security equipment and $20 billion for artificial intelligence.
Ahead of President Trump’s Middle East visit, Qatar announced it would gift him a $400 million Boeing 747 jumbo jet—set to serve as Air Force One during his term before being transferred to his presidential library. The aircraft has been dubbed a “palace in the sky.”
“I think it’s a great gesture from Qatar. I appreciate it very much,” Mr. Trump said from the White House on Monday. “I would never be one to turn down that kind of offer. I mean, I could be a stupid person and say, ’No, we don’t want a free, very expensive airplane.’ But it was — I thought it was a great gesture.”
