Earlier this week, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) responded to comments from far-left Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who is Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris’ running mate, saying that Walz’ comments were proof that he is actively encouraging illegal immigration.
Cruz made his remarks during his most recent episode of his “Verdict” podcast with cohost Ben Ferguson after Walz said last week that he would invest in ladder companies that build ladders that are taller than the border wall on the U.S. southern border.
“[Trump] talks about this wall. I always say, let me know how high it is. If it’s 25 feet, then I’ll invest in the 30-foot ladder factory,” Walz said during the CNN interview.
Cruz responded: “Understand he’s not saying as like a financial matter that he wants to invest in ladder companies. He is not advising that as a stock-picking tip. What he’s saying is he’s rooting for the people climbing the wall. He’s rooting for the people crossing into this country, and he’s not admitting this, but he’s rooting for the human traffickers. He’s rooting effectively, for the drug cartels.”
“And that’s exactly where Kamala Harris is,” he continued. “Kamala Harris was our border czar. She was in charge of the border during this invasion of eleven-and-a-half million people, and Tim Walz is there. He will be the cheerleader. The two of them will wave their pom poms, cheering on the invasion, going ‘yay, ladders, yay tunnels, get into this country illegally.’ Why? Because we think you’re going to vote for Democrats. And his record is he supports open borders. So does Kamala Harris, that’s why she picked him.”
