According to a report from Punchbowl News, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi is actively working to “tank” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s bid to be the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee. Pelosi has reportedly been making phone calls and lobbying for Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) to serve as the top Dem on the committee. From The New York Post: Pelosi has publicly backed Connolly’s candidacy, but the scope of the powerful Democrat’s lobbying campaign was previously unknown. Hunter was just the beginning… The White House announced Thursday morning President Biden would be commuting more than 1,500 sentences and issuing 39 new pardons in the largest single-day act of clemency in modern history. “The President has issued more sentence commutations at this point in his presidency than any of his recent predecessors at the same point in their first terms,” White House officials said in a statement. Biden has signaled more pardons and commutations are on the way. “I will take more steps in the weeks ahead. My Administration will continue reviewing clemency petitions to advance equal justice

Time Magazine has declared President-elect Donald Trump as its “Person of the Year” for 2024. Trump earned the top spot after a tumultuous year that included multiple assassination attempts, Democrat lawfare, and one of the most historic comebacks in the history of American politics. “For marshaling a comeback of historic proportions, for driving a once-in-a-generation political realignment, for reshaping the American presidency and altering America’s role in the world, Donald Trump is Time’s 2024 Person of the Year,” the magazine wrote. Time has awarded the honor to the winner of the presidential election every year since 2000. “Since he began

According to a new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, only 2 in 10 Americans approve of Joe Biden’s decision to pardon his son Hunter in a sweeping, 10-year pardon for all crimes known and unknown. From The New York Post: That displeasure tracks with the bipartisan uproar in Washington that ignited over the president’s about-face. The survey found that a relatively small share of Americans “strongly” or “somewhat” approve of the pardon, which came after the younger Biden was convicted on gun and tax charges. About half said they “strongly” or “somewhat” disapprove, and about 2 in 10 neither approve
