In the midst of all the statue pulling-downs, with Speaker Nancy Pelosi removing portraits of her predecessors as Speaker and demanding that various statues lining the halls of the US Capitol be removed, it is clearly the moment to ask: Is it time to disband the Democrats? To abolish the Democratic Party outright?
Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina is a Republican, and he is African American. In these tumultuous times of hatred and rampant racism, he has been victimized. Dozens of venomous voice mails have been left on his office phone. He has been called the n-word in the profanity-laced messages.
It’s time the nation stands up for the hard-working men and women of law enforcement who risk their lives every single day. Fortunately, small groups around the country are doing just that, with “Back the Blue” rallies.
Well isn’t this rich? Amidst all the re-naming and statue-pulling-down, most Americans, I suspect, are unaware that bases named for Confederate leaders are not the only places in America with names tied to slavery.
