Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency have removed approximately 12.3 million dead Americans from Social Security — individuals listed as more than 120 years old. Back in March, DOGE began briefing the American people on a massive Social Security cleanup. In a March 18 update, the agency reported that 3.2 million Social Security number holders—listed as 120 years old or older—had finally been marked as deceased. But it was just the beginning.
