Biden Raising Refugee Cap To Over 8x Current Levels By Next Year
On Monday, President Joe Biden announced that he would be raising the United States refugee admissions cap from 15,000 to 62,500 for the current fiscal year and 125,000 next year, as his administration continues to be overwhelmed by illegal immigration at the southern border. “Today, I am revising the United States’ annual refugee admissions cap to 62,500 for this fiscal year,” Biden said in a statement. He added that “The new admissions cap will also reinforce efforts that are already underway to expand the United States’ capacity to admit refugees, so that we can reach the goal of 125,000 refugee
