Over 100,000 Americans died of drug overdoses from in the one-year period ending in April – more than the number of car crash and gun fatalities combined, according to a new report from the New York Times. “In the 12-month period that ended in April, more than 100,000 Americans died of overdoses, up almost 30 percent from the 78,000 deaths in the prior year, according to provisional figures from the National Center for Health Statistics,” the New York Times reported. “The figure marks the first time the number of overdose deaths in the United States has exceeded 100,000 a year,

John Kennedy (R-LA) questioned Saule Omarova, President Biden’s nominee to be comptroller of currency, at a Senate hearing over her affiliation with a group called The Young Communists, and told her, “I don’t mean any disrespect; I don’t know whether to call you professor or comrade.” Kennedy asked Omarova, “You used to be a member of a group called The Young Communists, didn’t you?” “Senator, are you referring to my membership in the youth communist organization while I was growing up in the Soviet Union?” Omarova responded. “I just wanted to ask you that question,” Kennedy stated.

Australia Sending Positive COVID Cases And Close Contacts To Quarantine Camps

Australia’s Northern Territory (NT) Chief Minister Michael Gunner said on Sunday that nine new cases of COVID-19 have been detected in the remote community of Binjari, and that the Australian military was being used to force positive cases and close contacts into quarantine camps.
