January 12, 2023
Race/News

In one of her first acts as governor of Arkansas, Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R) has issued an executive order requiring the state to review its policies to remove teachings that “indoctrinate students with ideologies” such as critical race theory. “Schools must educate, not indoctrinate students; and their education policies must protect children and prepare them to enter the workforce,” the executive order begins. “Teachers and school administrators should teach students how to think—not what to think.” “Critical Race Theory (CRT) is antithetical to the traditional American values of neutrality, equality, and fairness. On Tuesday, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador thanked Democrat President Joe Biden for being the first U.S. President “in a very long time” to refuse to build “even one meter” of the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. The comments from AMLO — as the Mexican President is known — come as the United States face a record breaking illegal immigration crisis at its border with Mexico.  “We have said this and I repeat it today — I insist on this: You, President Biden, you are the first President of the United States in a very long time that has

On Wednesday, nearly every Democrat in the House of Representatives voted against a bill that would require immediate medical attention for babies who are born alive after a failed abortion attempt.  The House still passed the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which says any baby born alive after an attempted abortion is a “legal person for all purposes under the laws of the United States.” Doctors would be required to provide medical care for those babies as a “reasonably diligent and conscientious health care practitioner would render to any other child born alive.” The bill passed the House in a

On Tuesday, Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) responded to the news that the Biden administration is considering a ban on gas stoves, saying the idea is a “recipe for disaster.” Manchin’s comments came in response to the commissioner for the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission telling Bloomberg News that they are considering a ban on gas stoves.  “This is a hidden hazard,” commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. said. “Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.” Manchin rejected the plan, saying he would not give up the gas stove that he and his family cooked
