Say what? Over here at Mediaite, columnist Reed Richardson headlined this:
Greg Gutfeld Unleashes Bizarre Rant Blaming Adam Schiff and Impeachment for Pandemic ‘Surprise Attack’ and ‘One of the Biggest Global Disasters in History’
In which Richardson says this, bold print in the original.
“The Five’s Greg Gutfeld unleashed a bizarre, unhinged rant against Rep. Adam Schiff, effectively blaming the Congressman and House impeachment for having distracted President Donald Trump so much that it led to “one of the biggest global disasters in history.”
So over there at Mediaite, having the nerve to speak the truth is bizarre? Got it.
Fox News recently tracked a timeline for the media and politicians on the subject of the virus. It begins January 4th, saying this:
“The head of the University of Hong Kong’s Centre for Infection warns that “the city should implement the strictest possible monitoring system for a mystery new viral pneumonia that has infected dozens of people on the mainland, as it is highly possible that the illness is spreading from human to human.”
So with January 4th as a starting date, let’s take a look at Mediaite itself and just what they were covering until January 31st, the end of the month. Answer: Impeachment, impeachment, impeachment. In fact, by my count, the site was itself so obsessed with impeachment that between the 4th and the 31st, as the virus approached and the President was setting up the virus task force and banning travel from China, it ran 171 stories focused on – impeachment.
But let’s face it. Mediaite is a website. Adam Schiff is chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, and he was spending his time and resources not on the approach of the virus but on impeaching the president.
Which is to say, Greg Gutfeld was exactly right when he said:
“We have to remember four things, the heroism of a country, the surreal nature of the lockdown the sacrifice of an economy that destroys the stereotype of greedy capitalism. And we have to remember those who have no skin in this game who love to play politics and assign blame as a sport. They were wasting our time when time was so important, which brings me to Adam Schiff who had to create in his mind a working scenario to believe because the alternative reality, which is true, is too devastating.
He might consider for a moment that his ego-driven adventure in impeachment shoved the pandemic back into a closet which led to the surprise attack, which led to thousands of dead.”
There is in fact something bizarre here. And that would be Reed Richardson pretending that Adam Schiff didn’t do what Mediaite itself was recording repeatedly, on the record.
In the old days of the Soviet Union, if you were a Communist leader who had appeared in a photo with Stalin or Lenin, and then fell out of favor, the Soviet propaganda chiefs would re-issue the photo with the now out-of-favor Communist mysteriously “disappeared” from the photo, as if he had never existed. Re-writing history.
Mediaite’s Richardson can try and rewrite history all he wants to let Schiff, Nancy Pelosi, and the rest of the Hate Trump crowd off the hook for their behavior. Behavior – their impeachment obsession – that has now resulted in the deaths of some 70,000 Americans. But fortunately, there is too much-documented evidence out there backing up exactly what Greg Gutfeld said.
And if you have any doubts? Mediaite has kindly preserved the history of Schiff’s impeachment obsession in detail.
For which they deserve thanks.
