From the fringe to the foreground, Robert F. Kennedy’s “Make America Healthy Again” may not be as controversial as some corporate media outlets proclaim. In fact, a new YouGov poll found that the majority of Americans support ditching dangerous food additives and overhauling the American food industry.
Kennedy’s ideas are also resonating along bipartisan lines.
From Breitbart News:
Specifically, almost 8 in 10 American adults said they support requiring nutrition education in federally funded medical schools, while 74 percent support banning certain additives, including dyes, from the nation’s food supply.
Banning food additives has widespread support across the political spectrum, the poll finds, with 74 percent of Democrats and 81 percent of Republicans supporting such a plan.
Likewise, 66 percent of Americans — including 71 percent of Democrats and 66 percent of Republicans — want the federal government to increase restrictions on the use of pesticides in agricultural products.
Banning processed foods in public school lunches is also supported by a majority of Republicans, 66 percent, and Democrats, 68 percent.
This week, Kennedy spent time on the Hill drumming up support for his HHS Secretary nomination. During a Monday press conference, President-elect Donald Trump defended RFK Jr., saying he’s not nearly as radical as people think.
“I think he’s going to be much less radical than you would think. I think he’s got a very open mind. Otherwise I wouldn’t have put him there,” Trump told reporters.
