Federal investigators have named the man they say organized one of the more chilling plots in recent memory: a plan to turn a celebration into a slaughter.
He is Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez, 31, of Omaha. According to Homeland Security information first obtained by Fox News Digital, Alvarez is a Mexican national who came to the country as a child, overstayed his B2 visa in 2001, and in 2014 received protection under the Obama administration’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

The target was UFC Freedom 250, held on the White House grounds June 14. The plan, prosecutors allege, was sophisticated and patient.
Drones rigged with explosives would detonate over the arena and panic the crowd. As people fled, snipers would be waiting. Five co-conspirators have been arrested this month across four states.
Court filings say Alvarez was the planner. The FBI traced an encrypted-chat user called “Shepherd” — described by another suspect as the group’s organizer and a possible former military member — back to Alvarez through a TikTok account. He devised the team structure, investigators say, and directed the operation.
Earlier records had identified Alvarez only as a foreign national, noted after he consented to consular notification following his arrest. They did not list his country or status. After he was taken into custody by the FBI in Omaha on the day of the event, Immigration and Customs Enforcement lodged a detainer against him.
The White House and FBI declined to comment on the whereabouts of others involved, directing questions to the Justice Department.
DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis was blunt.
“This illegal alien from Mexico should never have been allowed in our country,” she said in a statement to Fox News Digital, calling him “the ringleader of a failed terror attack.” Alvarez, she added, “will face justice and swiftly be removed from our country.”
