As the crisis at the southern border continues to worsen, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has revealed that Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration has refused to communicate with him and that he has been forced to “fight” against the administration to work to secure the border.
“President Biden has never once even tried to contact me about the border,” Abbott said during a press conference on Monday. “The czar for the border Kamala Harris has never once tried to contact me. My last contact with [Homeland Security] Secretary Mayorkas was something like in February a year ago.”
“They have no interest in talking to Texas or talking to leaders who are actually on the border. Remember Joe Biden himself has never even been to the border,” he continued. “We are in a crisis that was man-made by President Biden, who doesn’t want to take the time to even come to the border or talk to the governor of a border state.”

Last month, illegal immigration hit a new record high when more than 234,000 migrants were encountered at the southern border. The number was a 5.8% increase from March, which held the previous record for migrant encounters after surpassing the 213,953 migrants encountered at the southern border in July 2021.
“There were 234,088 migrants encountered at the Southern border in April, per a DHS court filing today. That’s the highest number in DHS history. 117,989 migrants were released into the U.S. in April. 113,248 were removed, including 96,908 expelled via Title 42,” Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin wrote on Twitter.
