Female Athletes Call On NCAA To Protect Biological Female Sports, ‘We Don’t Want Our Achievements Erased From History’

In a letter released last week addressed to the NCAA Board of Governors, over three hundred female athletes joined together in hopes to protect the integrity of female sports; meaning biologically female sports. “We, the undersigned current and former NCAA and professional female athletes, strongly urge you to reject a recent call to boycott Idaho for passing its Fairness in Women’s Sports Act” the letter began.

“Fairness for female athletes should not be a political or partisan issue” the letter continued. “We athletes have diverse views on many topics, but stand united on this fact: protecting the integrity of women’s sports is pro-woman, pro-fairness, and consistent with the purpose and promise of Title IX.”

The reference to Idaho’s Fairness in Women’s Sports Act refers to the fact that Idaho was “the first U.S. state to ban transgender girls and women from competing in female sports leagues” and enacted “new laws that also prevent trans people from changing their birth certificates,” reported Reuters.

Idaho’s governor signed the bill into law in March which immediately led to the referenced calls to boycott Idaho by LGBT+ groups that called the legislation discriminatory. “It is a sad day in the United States when lawmakers are more determined to stop trans young people from playing games than to provide them with the care, support, and opportunities they need to survive and thrive,” said The Trevor Project’s head of advocacy and government affairs.

Female athletes who banned together to write the letter argue it is their protection they seek and that it’s not about stopping trans people from “playing games.” The letter reads, “We strongly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to compete, but true athletic parity for women demands that women’s sports be protected for biological females.”

In essence, there are women’s rights that must be protected. “Protecting the integrity of women’s sports has, for decades, played an integral role in remedying past discrimination against women and empowering them to achieve their full athletic potential,” the women write.

For those who want to make this a moral issue based on liberals’ favorite word, ‘feelings’ the women maintain it just doesn’t apply to this situation. It is simply science: “Studies attest to the reality that comparably fit and trained male athletes have innate physiological advantages over females…testosterone suppression does not undo these physiological advantages.”

In conclusion, the women plead, “we do not want to watch our athletic achievements be erased from the history books by individuals with all the inherent athletic advantages that come from a male body.”
