DHS Secretary Refuses To Give Data On Border Crisis

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) questioned Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas this week over the Biden administration’s refusal to provide congressional leaders with data on President Biden’s border crisis.

“Mr. Secretary, of the 1.3 million people that we’ve apprehended, how many people have been returned?” Johnson asked. “How many people are being detained? And how many people have been dispersed? Now I want some numbers here. So we’ve got 1.3 million people, how many people have been returned? How many people are being detained? How many people have been dispersed to all points around America?”

“Senator, I would be pleased to provide you with data,” Mayorkas responded.

“I want them now!” Johnson erupted. “Why don’t you have that information?”

“Senator, I do not have that data before me,” Mayorkas claimed.

The exchange continued with Mayorkas repeatedly refusing to answer Johnson’s questions.

Earlier this week, Fox News’ Bill Melugin revealed that the Biden administration has released over 600,000 illegal immigrants into the United States.

“More than 600,000 illegal immigrants have been released into the U.S. with NTA’s/NTR’s during the Biden Administration according to Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council. He says Biden admin’s catch & release policy is what is enticing migrants to come,” Melugin tweeted.
