Everyone on the planet is trying to figure out how best to spend their hours and days in quarantine to do their part in avoiding the spread of the coronavirus global pandemic. Famous singer and songwriter Madonna appears to have no problem keeping herself busy. Just four days ago she sang a rendition about eating fried fish because they were out of pasta, to the tune of her song ‘Vogue’ while dancing around in her luxurious bathroom.
Madonna has also been doing short “quarantine diaries” videos where she dramatically types on a typewriter surrounded by lit candles as if there is no electricity available. Just yesterday she posted a music video about being the only souls in a ghost town while video of empty streets around the world show the ‘ghost town’ the coronavirus has caused.
Watch the odd video from Madonna below:
One post, however, has become its own ghost, and we wonder why. Biz Pac Review found a bizarre Instagram post where Madonna was sitting in a bathtub of milky water, surrounded by rose petals, talking about how the coronavirus is “the great equalizer.” Did you ever want to feel like you were Madonna’s equal? Certainly, nothing will make one feel like Madonna is ‘the girl next door’ quite like a dramatic scene in what is likely a pretty high-priced bathtub.
The soaking 61-year-old wants us all to feel equal. “That’s the thing about COVID-19. It doesn’t care about how rich you are, how famous you are, how funny you are, how smart you are, where you live, how old you are, what amazing stories you can tell” she says in a slow, dramatic voice.
If that doesn’t console your quarantined spirit, she goes on to say, “Like I used to say at the end of ‘Human Nature’ every night, if the ship goes down, we’re all going down together!” That’s the spirit, Madonna. Thank you. The social media universe was quick to put the pop star in her place. “Sorry my queen, love u so much, but we’re not equal. We can die from the same diseases, but the poor will suffer the most. Do not romanticize nothing of this tragedy” one person commented on the post.
Another user replied to the video on Instagram writing, “This video is stupid. We all know [that] you are in your own rich confinement. You live in other reality, Madge. Stop it. With petals on your rich bath, oh my god. Covid19 [makes] distinction cause you can afford your own respiratory machine. Stop trivialize this awful situation please.”
According to the gossip magazine Page Six, Madonna is “isolating in London with her dancer boyfriend Ahlamalik Williams and daughter Mercy James.” The ‘great equalizer’ Instagram post has been removed from Madonna’s account. Celebrities really do hate it when they get called out for not living in reality.
