A Utah man named John Sullivan entered the United States Capitol during riots on January 6th. No, Sullivan is not a Trump supporter, nor someone who believes voter fraud led to a Biden victory. Sullivan was in attendance to “document” the other side. Sullivan told Fox News last week that he wanted to film the protests in order to dispute “this narrative going around” that Antifa instigators were not to blame for the disobedience. Sullivan is now the subject of a criminal complaint, facing federal charges of civil disorder, entering a restricted building and violent entry or disorderly conduct, according to the U.S. Justice Department.
Ironically, according to the FBI, Sullivan is to blame. While he has denied ties to Antifa, he is the founder of a Utah-based group called Insurgence USA, which held and advertised an event called “Kick These Fascists out of DC” conveniently around the same time as the pro-Trump “Stop the Steal” rally near the National Mall.
In his “documentation” video, Sullivan is heard egging on protesters. For his part in the illegal activity, “he was charged Thursday in federal court in Washington after being arrested by the FBI. He remains in custody in Toeele County, in his home state of Utah, on a U.S. Marshals Service hold request” reports Fox News.
Sullivan mingled amongst rioters saying, “We got this s— burned” and “it’s our house m———–” according to an affidavit signed by FBI Special Agent Matthew Foulger. Allegedly Sullivan also told Foulger he wore a ballistic vest and entered the Capitol through a broken window during the riot. “We accomplished this s—” and “We did this together. F— yeah! We are all a part of this history” are amongst phrases Sullivan can be heard saying on the video.
In an interview with Rolling Stone earlier this week, Sullivan said he was merely acting the part to fit in. “I had to relate to these people, and build trust in the short amount of time I had there to get where I need to go” he explained. “To the front of the crowd to see the dynamic between the police and the protesters, because nobody wants to see the backs of people’s heads from a far-off distance” he added. What a true journalist Now let’s see if the liberal elites and Hollywood actors will bail him out and give him an Emmy.
