As the saying goes, when you start picking up serious flak you know you’re over the target.
The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway and the Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro along with conservative commentator Allie Beth Stuckey, – serious conservatives all – are clearly over the target. The target, in this case, being the liberal Hate Trump media.
New York Times reporter Jeremy Peters, as noted here at NewsBusters, “has developed a beat of targeting conservative media.” The latest attack from Peters in the Times is headed this way:

On The Federalist and in Fox News appearances, some of President Trump’s supporters don’t really defend him. They attack the critics.
Ohhhh nooooooo! Imagine…attacking the left-wing critics of America. How could this happen?????
The real source of Peters’ upset with conservative media is expressed this way:
“Ms. Hemingway is part of a group of conservative commentators — who have large social media followings, successful podcasts and daily Fox News appearances — that has helped insulate the president and preserve his popularity with his base, even as many Americans say they are likely to vote against him in November.
…The capacity that many Trump supporters have developed to focus so intensely on the perceived wrongdoing of his opponents is a powerful asset for the president as he runs for re-election amid growing economic and social turmoil and a public health crisis that a majority of voters say they don’t trust him to handle. This almost entirely white cohort of conservative commentators can spend ample time mocking the mainstream and liberal media for focusing on Mr. Trump’s racist and divisive messaging without giving nearly as much consideration to the harm caused, for instance, when he promotes a video of someone shouting “white power.”
In other words? In other words Peters – and he is far from alone in this – is seriously upset that the liberal media for which he reports has lost its monopoly on the presentation and analysis of the news. This is why there is so much liberal anger at Fox or Rush or Sean, Tucker and Laura – not to mention any conservative publication that comes into view with a sharp response to the latest leftist inanity in or out of the media. Simply knowing that Mark Levin can interview Sean Hannity on his own Fox show about Sean’s brand new number one bestselling book Live Free Or Die: America (and the World) on the Brink – is for liberals to realize with teeth-gritting fury that liberals no longer hold sway over what once were liberal power centers in radio, television and book publishing.
An attack like this one from Peters and the Times would, but of course, not be complete without the paper seeking the wisdom of today’s Never Trumpers. Here it is in the Peters article:
“Ask them what they are building, and they can’t answer,” said Evan McMullin, who ran against Mr. Trump in 2016 as a third-party candidate. “They aren’t trying to build anything. They’re just tearing things down.”
Ahhhh. No. What is being supported by all these conservatives in the media is exactly what conservatives have always been supporting – constitutionalists appointed to the judiciary, tax cuts, smaller government, peace through strength and more.
In fact, this latest attack in the Times is in fact an acknowledgment that Mollie Hemingway, Ben Shapiro, Allie Beth Stuckey and so many more conservatives in the media are exactly very, very effective at what we are building – which is exactly why there is so much virulent opposition from liberal media.
Imagine that.
