Have you heard about the Chinese miracle? Just amazing. Here is the reporting straight from NBC. It says, in part, this:
“U.S. reports 1,264 coronavirus deaths in over 24 hours….Meanwhile, China, where the pandemic broke out, claimed that not a single new death was reported, and the city of Wuhan in Hubei province, where the new virus was first identified, prepared for lockdown measures to be lifted.”
Got that? China, the country that was, shall we say, less than forthcoming about the arrival and blossoming of the Wuhan virus – which turned a local problem into a global pandemic – now says, according to a completely accepting NBC, “that not a single new death was reported” in this country of billions of humans.
Huh. Amazing. Downright magical.
This is the same NBC, mind you, whose White House reporter questions every single word President Trump says at these White House briefings. But China announces out of the blue that “not a single new death was reported” – and NBC runs with it. Unchallenged.
Ya gotta love the response from various Twittering conservatives. To their credit, Mediaite wrote this up here. The headline:

Ouch.
But the humor of this aside, this episode underlines a serious problem: there is considerable bias in the American media towards the Chinese Communist government.
As I have noted over here at NewsBusters and Mark Hemingway over at Real Clear Politics also discussed one prominent liberal media outlet after another has been carrying water for the Chinese.
From glowing profiles in The New York Times like this one titled “The Land That Failed to Fail,” to this jewel in an issue of last July’s Times headlined “A New Red Scare Is Reshaping Washington” the liberal “paper of record” has gone out of its way to not only stick up for Communist China but attack those conservatives of the Trump era who have seen – long before the virus arrival – that China was a serious problem.
So is the NBC story surprising? No. Hardly. What it is though is revealing, unconsciously at that, just how accepting American liberal (and Trump-hating) media outlets can be when it comes to blithely rolling over for Chinese propaganda.
