Add another news outlet to the long list of biased, and unethical outlets making poor decisions against the commander in chief. Yes, Bloomberg is running for President as a Democrat in the 2020 primaries, but he is using his news network as his press secretary. In a statement so bizarre it reads like fiction, Bloomberg Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait sent a memo to staffers after Mike Bloomberg announced his candidacy. The memo declared they will “continue our tradition of not investigating Mike (and his family and foundation).”
The insanity did not end there. Also announced was that no one running as a Democratic presidential candidate would be investigated. It’s nice to have friends who own networks. As for President Trump? He’s fair game and will continue to be “investigated.”
Many Bloomberg reporters and staff were infuriated at the mandate blocking them from doing their jobs fairly, honestly and accurately. Others, however, are thrilled to get rid of that pesky “journalist” title tying their hands with facts and editorial integrity to “take a leave of absence to work on their boss’ campaign” reported Fox News.

Guess what, Mr. Bloomberg? Being President of the United States has its perks as well. Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign manager Brad Parscale fired back and gave the news outlet consequences for its actions. “The decision by Bloomberg News to formalize preferential reporting policies is troubling and wrong,” wrote Parscale in a statement. “Bloomberg News has declared that they won’t investigate their box or his Democrat competitors, many of whom are current holders of high office, but will continue critical reporting on President Trump.”
Parscale continued that he is “accustomed to unfair reporting practices” but admitted this case is particularly outrageous as “most news organizations don’t announce their biases so publicly.” Trump’s campaign won’t allow Bloomberg to have their cake and eat it too, as Parscale announced: “since they have declared their bias openly, the Trump campaign will no longer credential representatives of Bloomberg News for rallies or other campaign events.”
Additionally, Parscale announced the campaign will “determine whether to engage with individual reporters or answer inquiries from Bloomberg News on a case-by-case basis. This will remain the policy of the Trump campaign until Bloomberg News publicly rescinds its decision. Great job Bloomberg, now any staff you have left actually attempting to do their job in any manner, has been punished as the result of your asinine actions.
