Trump: Biden ‘A Gift To The Chinese Communist Party’

I am “not interested” in talking to China, President Trump told CBS News’, Catherine Herridge. “I’ve always had a tough stance…we made a great trade deal – was done, the ink wasn’t even dry, and they hit us with the plague,” said Trump. “So right now, I’m not interested in talking to China about another deal. I’m interested in doing other things with China,” the President added.

On Tuesday President Trump announced he had signed “legislation sanctioning China for suppressing freedoms in Hong Kong, as well as an executive order ending U.S. preferential treatment for Hong Kong” reported CBS News.

With regard to his decision to employ sanctions, Trump said of Hong Kong, “we just lost a competitor,” one that “we incentivized to do a lot of business.” Hong Kong will now be “treated the same as mainland China,” added Trump. Touting his policy and handling of the Communist Party of China over the Democratic nominee for President, Joe Biden, Trump said “no administration has been tougher on China than this administration” adding Biden’s “entire career has been a gift to the Chinese Communist Party.”

Also, this week the United Kingdom announced its reversal on doing business with the Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei by allowing it into their 5G network. Washington praised the U.K.’s decision “claiming victory after months of pressure on the British government” reported The Hill.

Britain’s Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden cited the United States’ sanctions against Huawei in May as its decision-making motivation. “This was a significant, material change – and one that we have to take into consideration,” said Dowden at the House of Commons. “Given the uncertainty, this creates around Huawei’s supply chain, the U.K. can no longer be confident it will be able to guarantee the security of future Huawei 5G equipment affected by the change in the U.S. foreign direct product rules.”

The sanctions are “just one component of a U.S. pressure campaign to dissuade allies from developing their fifth-generation wireless technologies using Huawei’s hardware. American intelligence agencies and regulators have long maintained that Huawei poses a national security threat because of the Chinese Communist Party’s power over companies based in China” reported The Hill.
