Homan hits back.
Earlier this week, far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) lashed out at Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Border Czar Tom Homan over their enforcement of immigration laws — specifically referencing a recent clash involving New Jersey Democrats at an ICE detention center.
According to The Daily Wire, several Democrats stormed the Delaney Hall ICE facility after gates opened to admit a busload of apparent illegal immigrants. DHS officials say federal charges are being considered against those involved.
“If anyone’s breaking the law in this situation, it’s not members of Congress, it’s the Department of Homeland Security,” AOC said in an Instagram video. “It’s people like Tom Homan and Secretary Kristi Noem.”
“You lay a finger on someone, on Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman … or any of the representatives that were there — you lay a finger on them, we are going to have a problem,” AOC threatened. “Because the people who are breaking the law are the people not abiding by it.”
Homan blasted AOC for her comments in a Fox News appearance.
“I wish she’d do her job,” he told Fox News earlier this week. “She’s a legislator, right? Why doesn’t she pass some legislation … and actually improve this country like President Donald Trump is already doing?”
“She should try doing her job,” Homan added.
Homan also hit back at the far-left congresswoman during a CNN appearance this week.
“First of all, you can‘t intimidate me. Come on, give me a break. You know, I was enforcing — I was wearing a green uniform, Border Patrol agent for five years before she was even born. I had more than three decades enforcing immigration law before she became a member of Congress,” he said in an appearance on CNN’s “The Lead.”
“I worked for six presidents. I‘ve seen policies. I‘ve seen hundreds of policies. Some worked, some didn‘t,” Homan told host Jake Tapper. “But you can‘t deny the success of the Trump administration when it comes to border security.”
