During a press briefing on Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was questioned by reporters on the Taliban preventing charter flights that contain Americans to leave Afghanistan, saying that the problem was not “about fault.”

The Taliban gained control of the Kabul airport after the Biden administration’s evacuation of U.S. troops while American citizens were left stranded in the country.

“Following up on these charter flights that the Taliban is holding up in Afghanistan, the Secretary of State said there are limits to what we can do without personnel on the ground,” Fox News reporter Peter Doocy said. “You just said we are not on the ground.”

“You’re right,” Psaki responded.

“Whose fault is that?” Doocy asked.

“I don’t think this is about fault here,” Psaki claimed.

Psaki’s comments come after President Biden said during an interview in August that he was committed to leaving U.S. troops in Afghanistan until all Americans had been evacuated.

ABC News host George Stephanopoulos said to Biden, “We’ve got, like, 10,000 to 15,000 Americans in the country right now, right? And are you committed to making sure that the troops stay until every American who wants to be out–“

“Yes,” Biden interjected.

“— is out?” Stephanopoulos said.

“Yes,” Biden confirmed.
