Pro-Hamas Activists Storm Cannon House Office Building

On Wednesday, a group of pro-Hamas activists stormed the Cannon House Office Building and refused to leave as they began chanting and demanding that Congress call for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Many of the pro-Hamas activists wore shirts that read “not in our name” on the front, and “Jews say cease fire now” on the back, as noted by The Post Millennial. They also held signs that read “Let Gaza Live” and “ceasefire.”

Ironically, the group calls themselves Jewish Voices for Peace, and describes itself as “Jews organizing toward Palestinian liberation and Judaism beyond Zionism.”

A message sent by the House Sergeant at Arms stated, “Due to First Amendment activities on Capitol Grounds, all pedestrian entry points to the House Office Buildings are restricted to Member and Staff ONLY.”

US Capitol Police also responded to the event in a statement on X, saying that they have begun arresting the protestors.

“A group of protesters are demonstrating inside the Cannon Rotunda. Demonstrations are not allowed inside Congressional Buildings. We warned the protestors to stop demonstrating and when they did not comply we began arresting them,” the statement said.
