President Donald Trump released a statement on TRUTH Social Friday morning threatening to enforce large-scale sanctions and tariffs against Russia unless the attacks on Ukraine stop and the two countries come to the negotiating table.

“Based on the fact that Russia is absolutely ‘pounding’ Ukraine on the battlefield right now, I am strongly considering large scale Banking Sanctions, Sanctions, and Tariffs on Russia until a Cease Fire and FINAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT ON PEACE IS REACHED,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“To Russia and Ukraine, get to the table right now, before it is too late. Thank you!!!”

Trump aides will meet with Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia next week; President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the meet-up on X.

“Next Monday, I have a visit planned to Saudi Arabia for a meeting with the Crown Prince. After that, my team will stay in Saudi Arabia to work with our American partners,” Zelenskyy wrote in a post on X. “Ukraine is most interested in peace.”

Zelenskyy included a message to President Trump in the post, vowing Ukraine “is working and will continue to work constructively for a swift and reliable peace.”

President Trump commented on the latest push for peace from the Oval Office on Friday.

“If they don’t want to settle – we’re OUT of there. Because we want them to settle. I’m doing this to stop death. Secondarily, way down the line, is money,” Trump said.
