The House of Representatives passed the amended Laken Riley Act on Wednesday, handing President Donald Trump his first big legislative win. The bill, named after a murdered Georgia nursing student, requires criminal migrants lacking legal status to be detained. Recent polling from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found over half of Americans said immigration is an important priority for Trump to tackle this year.
