Obama Accused Of Being “Parasite” Of Democratic Party

Wow.  Barack Obama is a parasite.

This spectacular charge is made in a new, soon-to-be-released book by journalist Edward-Isaac Dovere titled Battle for the Soul: Inside the Democrats’ Campaign to Defeat Trump.

Over there at Fox News, the headline on the book says this:

New book claims Obama was a ‘parasite’ who sucked the Democratic Party dry to get reelected
‘Obama never built a Democratic bench and never cared to’

The story says, in part, this:

“In a chapter entitled ‘Benign Neglect,’ Dovere writes that the section’s namesake is how Obama aides privately described his abandonment of the Democratic Party once in the White House. “‘Negligence’ might be more accurate,” Dovere, writer for The Atlantic and former chief Washington correspondent for Politico, writes.

‘The numbers are hard to ignore: during his eight years in office, Obama oversaw a net loss of 947 state legislative seats, 63 House seats, 11 senators, and 13 governors,” he continues.’

Dovere writes that the 44th president carried himself with a ‘self-assured self-regard.’…

….In 2009, Obama hired his friend Tim Kaine to head the DNC, even though Kaine was also serving as governor for the first year on the job.

In a scathing passage Dovere claims Kaine was at the time ‘commuting two days a week to oversee the pilfering of talent, money, resources, and purpose for the Obama reelection effort that was already under way.’

‘In his second term, he cared about what happened to the husk as much as any parasite does,’ Dovere says.”

Suffice to say, the former President is not used to being treated in this fashion. Particularly by those who are identified as former “Obama aides.” Ouch.

There is a real issue here for Democrats. A real bone to pick with Obama. As a former Reagan White House associate political director I can personally attest that President Reagan relished his role as GOP party cheerleader and fundraiser. He would go out of his way to host fundraisers in various DC hotels for the group of House Republican candidates in a given campaign year. He personally hosted promising candidates for Oval Office photo shoots and videos to help them in their campaigns. So important was his role in electing a Republican majority to the U.S. Senate in 1980- for the first time in 26 years! – that the new National Republican Senatorial Committee headquarters of the 1980’s was named in Reagan’s honor.

This is a far cry from what various Democrats are now quietly telling author Dovere.

The question not asked? What is Joe Biden doing for his party in terms of fundraising and candidate recruitment and support.

Based on the visible – make that invisible-evidence, one suspects the answer is “nothing.”

Call it the return of the Democratic presidential parasite.
