As President Ronald Reagan would say with a shake of the head: “Well, there you go again.”
The “you” in this case are all those liberals incessantly lecturing Americans that they must mask up – but somehow can’t seem to remember to do it themselves. Which is to say, there they go again with more fresh servings of hypocrisy.
Two more incidents have crossed the radar screen, both making it crystal clear the real Marie Antoinette-style “let them eat cake” attitude of the mask lecturers.
The first was the Met Costume Gala, a glitzy annual affair with entry in the neighborhood of $30,000 a pop. Now, famously, lefty Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez showed up in a white, shoulderless evening gown with “Tax the Rich” slashed across her back end. (Made by a designer who, yes indeed, is on the hook for thousands of dollars in back taxes.)
This is exactly why Donald Trump’s base is not going anywhere.
But the photographs of the night revealed more than AOC’s naked shoulders. Like AOC herself, the photos show the other attendees around her – maskless to a person.
Ahhhh, but not so for the help – the staff, security, working reporters and more. As The New York Post’s Kyle Smith noted by publishing a couple of photos of the event, all the plebes – the “little people” at the event – were all masked up.
A handful of days later, clear across the country in that lefty bastion known as Hollywood, the royalty of television gathered to celebrate the Emmys. And what do you know. The exact same phenomenon was observed.
Photo after photo of the glitzy attendees hobnobbing elbow-to-elbow and there was not a mask to be seen. As The Gateway Pundit correctly noted:

Both events follow a string of similar incidents involving prominent liberals. That list includes House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Governor Gavin Newsom, San Francisco Mayor London Breed, and Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser – all of whom demanded that people in their charge (House members, Californians, residents of San Francisco and DC) be mandated to wear masks to go about their business. And all of whom were caught wearing no mask when they thought they were off-camera.
What this collectively illustrates is the state of the liberal mindset. They really do think they are above ordinary people and they really do think the rules they make don’t apply to them- and that attitude goes well beyond the mask issue.
Trust me – the message is received by millions of Americans. This is exactly why Donald Trump’s base is not going anywhere.
