Over the weekend, former Biden Press Secretary Jen Psaki, who is now a host on MSNBC, said that those who are blaming Democrats and the media for the assassination attempt on former President Trump are increasing the risk of violence and that people “feel” scared.

Psaki made her comments during a Sunday appearance on NBC News’ “Meet The Press” with host Kristen Welker while talking about the effects of the assassination attempt.

“For anyone out there who has a platform who thinks the moment right now is to be political and attack the other party, you are feeding into the danger,” she said. “You are making it more likely there’s retaliation. I’m incredibly scared. I’m scared for journalists. I’m scared for people who have public platforms of all parties. And that’s how people should feel.”

She said that people need to just “take it day by day. That’s where he would be.”

When discussing President Biden’s upcoming week, Psaki said, “I mean, he has a huge interview tomorrow. And the moment there is not to talk about the political path forward. It is to be a healer and to lower the rhetoric and the – and – and the – the tenor in the conversation in the country.”
