Democratic lawmakers released a video this week addressed directly to service members, urging them to “refuse illegal orders” and defend the Constitution against threats they say may come from within.
…a move many say is flirting with insurrection.
Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn sounded genuinely alarmed. On Fox News, she said the message could only come from one place — a deep, unshakable contempt for Donald Trump.
“They have stage four Trump Derangement Syndrome,” she said.
“It is inconceivable that you would have elected officials… saying to uniform members of the military… that they would defy the orders that they have been given to execute their mission,” Blackburn said.
“I find it inconceivable — but, that is what they’ve chosen to do.”

The video, posted by Sen. Elissa Slotkin and viewed more than six million times, features lawmakers listing their past service — military, intelligence, national security — before telling today’s troops that they must decide which orders pass constitutional muster.
“The American people need you to stand up for our laws and our Constitution. Don’t give up the ship.”

Meanwhile, some of the lawmakers in the video have been advancing legislation to limit a president’s power to deploy the National Guard at home — a direct response to Trump’s use in Washington and Chicago.
They also aim to restrict Trump from acting against narco-terrorists without Congress’s blessing.
This is not yet a clash, but it is a prelude.
