Democrats are looking more and more desperate…
On Friday morning, a group of Democratic lawmakers attempted to enter the Department of Education building in Washington, D.C., to meet with Acting Secretary Denise L. Carter; they were stopped by security.
Representative Maxwell Frost (D-FL) pressed the security guard, who reiterated that he was only doing his job without providing further details. The lawmakers were visibly frustrated.
Members of Congress are attempting to stage a photo op at the Department of Education but security won’t let them in. They say they should be let in because they’re not dangerous people, or thieves, or robbers.

This incident occurrs amid growing concerns over potential budget cuts proposed by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Democrats have voiced strong opposition to cuts, fearing significant impacts on educational programs and services.
President Donald Trump and Republican leaders have advocated for dismantling the Department of Education, arguing that state governments are better equipped to manage educational policies.
Earlier this week, President Trump suggested that if Linda McMahon, his nominee for education secretary, is confirmed, she should work towards “putting herself out of a job.”
REPORTER: “Why nominate Linda McMahon if you’re going to get rid of the Education Dept?”
TRUMP: “I told Linda, I hope you do a great job & put yourself out of a job. I want her to put herself out of a job.”

The confrontation at the DOE underscores the escalating tensions between the administration and Democratic lawmakers regarding the future of federal involvement in education.
Former Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, who served in Trump’s first administration, slammed the Department of Education in a recent op-ed.
“A complete reset begins with ending the failed experiment resident in the Department of Education. The bureaucrats have focused on mandating DEI, when students needed the focus to be on ABC and 123,” DeVos wrote. “President Trump and Congress should take their corrosive power away and instead block grant all necessary education funding directly to the states.”
“This reset must also ensure that no child in America is trapped in a failing school,” DeVos added.
