Dem Candidates Run From Racial ‘Skeletons’ in Their Closets

President Trump held a celebration for the 150th anniversary of the 15th Amendment which gave black men the right to vote at the White House yesterday. Coinciding with Black History Month, the President told a packed Cabinet Room that “blacks have enriched U.S. culture, deepened America’s faith and ‘raised up our conscience” reported the Washington Times. While speaking to the hundreds of African-American leaders, Trump said: “In every field, every generation, and every calling, African-Americans have lifted up our nation to new heights – and, like all citizens, you are entitled to a government that puts your needs, your interests, and your families first.”

Democratic presidential hopefuls are honoring Black History Month by pretending their personal pasts with race doesn’t exist. As the Washington Times writes, “all of the top Democratic presidential candidates have racial blemishes on their records, and their rivals have been more forceful in targeting them as they fight tooth and nail for black voters in the first-in-the-South primary Saturday.”

For a party that loves nothing more than to call Republicans racists as a tactic to avoid any substantial discussion, they sure have a lot to hide. The Washington Times goes one-by-one through the hypocritical Dems: “Former Vice President Joseph R. Biden has faced blowback over the 1994 crime bill that activists blame for putting more minorities behind bars.” As for Senator Bernie Sanders, critics are displeased with his “commitment to confront the gun violence that has been a scourge to the black community.”

Mayor Pete Buttigieg has been chastised for doing nothing to ease racial tensions in his hometown of South Bend, Indiana. Hedge fund billionaire Tom Steyer has “caught flak for having invested in private prisons” and Biden accused him of bankrolling his campaign with some of that money. As for Bloomberg, his reprehensible comments about needing to send cops to black neighborhoods, and that criminals are so stereotypical, one can effectively “copy and paste” young black man into every scenario.  Many activists are furious with Bloomberg for the policing tactics which resulted from his “stop and frisk” policy.

Reverend Al Sharpton chimed in on the race discussion: “I don’t agree with a lot of the so-called centrists because a lot of the centrists leave us out of the so-called center, but I also disagree with a lot of the progressives, because a lot of progressives are progressive about everything but race.” How being progressive about race would actually be implemented and satisfy the likes of Sharpton is unclear. Regardless, Sharpton says the candidates have a hard time reaching African Americans because they discuss Wall Street, Main Street, but neglect the fact that “blacks are on Martin Luther King Boulevard” says Sharpton. “We are not on Main Street…Many of the Main Streets excluded us.”
