Time Magazine has declared President-elect Donald Trump as its “Person of the Year” for 2024. Trump earned the top spot after a tumultuous year that included multiple assassination attempts, Democrat lawfare, and one of the most historic comebacks in the history of American politics.
“For marshaling a comeback of historic proportions, for driving a once-in-a-generation political realignment, for reshaping the American presidency and altering America’s role in the world, Donald Trump is Time’s 2024 Person of the Year,” the magazine wrote.
Time has awarded the honor to the winner of the presidential election every year since 2000.
“Since he began running for President in 2015, perhaps no single individual has played a larger role in changing the course of politics and history than Trump,” Time wrote. “Trump is once again at the center of the world, and in as strong a position as he has ever been.”
Trump also stopped by the New York Stock Exchange Thursday morning to ring the opening bell.
“This is an honor… I brought some of our compatriots along with us,” Trump said at the NYSE. “They’re going to do a beautiful job for you for the next four years. I have to say, Time Magazine giving this honor for the second time—I think I like it better this time actually.”
