Hasan Piker just warned American Jews. A House Democrat says enough.
Michigan Democrat Rep. Hillary Scholten called Hasan Piker “a hack who thrives on hate, shock and awe because he lacks substance” — and she’s not wrong about the shock and awe part.
That’s his whole business model.
Here’s what set her off.
During an Aug. 20 stream, Piker put up a photo of Michigan state Sen. Jeremy Moss — a Jewish lawmaker running for Congress — and warned that if American Jews keep “putting this idea out there that they are singularly invested in Israel,” somebody’s eventually “gonna come around and take action.”
Not against Israel, he clarified. Against American Jews.
Say that sentence slowly.
A prominent left-wing streamer, staring into a camera with a Jewish elected official’s face on screen, floating the idea that violence against Jews in America is basically a matter of time — and framing it almost as their own fault for “putting the idea out there.”
Scholten called it what it is. “Unacceptable. Full stop.”
Piker’s response? He called her an “Israel 1st congresswoman” and suggested she was just trying to save Democrats’ Senate chances in Michigan. Never mind the substance. Deflect, insult, move on. Classic hack.
Piker isn’t some anonymous troll. He’s campaigned with Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic Senate nominee in Michigan, multiple times. El-Sayed has had to publicly walk back Piker’s greatest hits before — including the time Piker said America “deserved” 9/11.
This week, El-Sayed put out a statement defending “Jewish safety” without actually cutting Piker loose.
That’s the tell.
Democrats keep condemning what Piker says.
Nobody’s condemning why he still has a seat at the table.
