During an interview with ABC News’ Martha Raddatz over the weekend, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass claimed that the Trump Administration hasn’t done anything good at the border.
…despite illegal crossings and migrant encounters reaching historic lows.
“Is there anything good you think the administration has done in these six months at the border?” Raddatz asked the LA mayor.
Bass conceded the administration did well when responding to the L.A. fires that ravaged the county in January, but denied it had done anything to good at the border.
“[But] if you ask me, is there anything that they have done good in terms of immigration? I don’t know, I don’t think so. I think that the viewpoint has been punitive, has been, ‘Let’s make it as miserable as possible so that these people don’t come,'” Bass said.
After the clip aired, Raddatz pushed back on Bass’ claim — noting that the Trump administration’s border crackdown had delivered dramatic results at the southern border.
“We were down on that border, and it is dramatically, dramatically different than it was a year ago,” she declared.
