Will we ever get answers?
Joe Biden’s former doctor refused to answer a single question Wednesday about the ex-president’s health and cognitive state, stunningly invoking his right against self-incrimination before slinking out of a congressional deposition.
Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s longtime physician, is under scrutiny for allegedly shielding the public from the truth about Biden’s decline in office and for reportedly concealing advanced-stage prostate cancer.
“Dr. O’Connor pleaded the Fifth Amendment,” said House Oversight Chairman James Comer, moments after the doctor’s swift exit.
According to Comer, O’Connor was asked:
- “Were you ever told to lie about the president’s health?”
- “Did you ever believe President Biden was unfit to execute his duties?”
He pleaded the Fifth Amendment both times.
The only question O’Connor managed to answer was to confirm his own name, an Oversight spokesperson said dryly, adding that doctor-patient privilege would have easily permitted responses to at least some of the committee’s questions.
House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer took to X, saying it’s clear there was a “cover-up.”
“President Joe Biden’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, just pleaded the fifth at his deposition before Congress today. It’s now clear there was a conspiracy to cover up President Biden’s cognitive decline after Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s physician and family business associate, refused to answer any questions and chose to hide behind the fifth amendment. The American people demand transparency but Dr. O’Connor would rather conceal the truth. Dr. O’Connor took the fifth when asked if he was told to lie about President Biden’s health and whether he was fit to be President of the United States. Congress must assess legislative solutions to prevent such a coverup from happening again. We will continue to interview more Biden White House aides to get the answers Americans deserve.”

Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs (R) also blasted O’Connor on X, saying, “Joe Biden’s White House physician, pled the Fifth to all questions—except his name—during his deposition. He’s covering up what could be our nation’s biggest scandal. Even radical Democrats agree: Dr. O’Connor’s refusal to answer questions is not good for Joe.”
